Three people who were on a type of boat commonly used by smugglers were killed, including a child, and four others were injured. The U.S. Coast Guard announced late Monday night that it had suspended its search for seven missing people. NBC 7’s Dave Summers reports.

At least three people are dead and several people were still missing 12 hours after the small boat they were crowded onto capsized off the coast of Del Mar. NBC 7’s Shelby Bremer reports.

At around 6:30 a.m., a boat overturned just north of Torrey Pines State Beach with an estimated 18 people on board, with three confirmed dead and four people taken to the hospital.
